Guidelines for prospective authors for the journal „Der Antike Sudan. Mitteilungen der Sudanarchäologischen Gesellschaft zu Berlin e.V.“ (MIttSAG)
We accept articles in German and English. The topic can be either scientific or popular scientific. The article should not exceed 20 pages in print, including figures and references. German articles should enclose an English summary, English articles a German one (we can do this for you). It is assumed that you hold the copyright on text and figures.
The submission deadline is 31st July, the volume will be out in December. As each volume has a restricted number of pages, it depends on the submission date whether your article will be included or not.
We require the manuscripts as a Word-doc (attached to an email to: a.lohwasser(at)uni-muenster.de) and printable figures (either attached to an email or sent by Wetransfer, Hightail,…). Please make sure that your text, figures and legends are complete. Please DO NOT integrate the figures in the text!
The pictures should be scanned in high resolution (colour: min. 300 dpi, greyscale: min. 600 dpi, Bitmap: 1200 dpi). Please tell us your preferred size of the figures in print: width of the page (16 cm), width of the column (7,7 cm) or width of 1.5 columns (11 cm). The height of the figure depends on the width.
The number of colour images is restricted, given that they can be printed on three pages only (inner covers, back cover). Please tell us which picture(s) should be printed in colour, if possible.
We will send you a proof in pdf, please correct errata only. At the proof stage we cannot accept major changes (additional passages or figures, etc.).
After publication we will send you one copy of the volume as well as a PDF of your article.
